The Arts Council Collection Frieze Acquisitions Fund has selected works by Alex Margo Arden, Sarah Ball, Olu Ogunnaike, Vanessa Raw and Liorah Tchiprout to join the Arts Council Collection.
Established in 2023, the Arts Council Collection Frieze Acquisitions Fund enables work by UK-based early to mid-career or overlooked artists to be acquired at Frieze London. With the generosity of new and existing patrons, including Tala and Kemal Cingillioglu, Louisa and Sinan Uzan, Zelie Walker-Noble and Ryan Taylor, the fund has grown to £90,000 this year, doubling the amount available when the Fund launched in 2023.
Alona Pardo, director of Arts Council Collection said, ‘These acquisitions demonstrate our ongoing commitment to supporting artists who are shaping the future of contemporary practice in the UK. Thanks to the vision of our Acquisitions Committee and the exceptional generosity of our patrons, the Frieze Fund allows us to invest in artists at defining stages of their careers and ensure their work is shared with audiences nationwide.’
The Arts Council Collection Committee 2025–26 is chaired by Nicholas Serota (chair of Arts Council England) and includes Claye Bowler (artist), Ekow Eshun (curator of the British Art Show 2026), Kate Adams (director and CEO of Project Art Works), Hammad Nasar (director of programmes and content at Ibraaz), Alona Pardo (director of Arts Council Collection), Ralph Rugoff (director of Hayward Gallery) and Peter Heslip (director of visual arts at Arts Council England).
