Qualeasha Wood's 2024 tapestry bed rot is currently included in World Builders at ArtsWestChester, NY. Curated by Megan Meadowlark, the exhibition is open until 17 January 2027.
The exhibition asks: What does smart technology overlook about the human experience?
It explores the growing influence of artificial intelligence, generative technologies and surveillance capitalism on human and non-human bodies. Through a wide range of media, these artists consider how the body, expression and connection persist and mutate within technologically mediated worlds. Rather than treating technology as a distant force, they reveal it as something felt: a presence that touches, shapes and reimagines how we experience everyday life, both physically and emotionally.
Participating artists:
Hannah Baer, KS Brewer, Stephanie Dinkins, Mark Dorf, Chris Dorland, Jordan Eagles, exonemo, Katherina Jesek, Jenn Karson, Chelsea Thompto, Colin J. Radcliffe, Molly Soda, Alida Sun, Roopa Vasudevan, and Qualeasha Wood.
