Following its recent acquisition by the museum, Qualeasha Wood's It’s All For U (If U Rlly Want It) (2024) is included in Labyrinth/Laboratory: Selections from the Cranbrook Collection. The exhibiton opens 1 April 2026.
The exhibition is curated by Kat Goffnett, Associate Curator of Collections, and Katy Kim, the Jeanne and Ralph Graham Curatorial Fellow. Largely focused on work produced since the 1960s, Labyrinth/Laboratory: Selections from the Cranbrook Collection places into dialogue various aesthetic, material, and conceptual connections across time by Academy artists.
Qualeasha Wood (b. 1996, Long Branch, NJ) lives and works in Philadelphia, PA. She received her BA in 2019 from the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI and her MA in 2021 from Cranbrook Academy of Fine Art, Bloomfield Hills, MI. Current and forthcoming exhibitions include Queer Texture, Primary, Nottingham; I Still Dream of Lost Vocabularies, Autograph, London; and In Character, SCAD Museum of Art, Savannah, GA.
