Shaqúelle Whyte’s ‘And it came to a head’ (2024) has been acquired by the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge. The painting was previously part of the group exhibition Being There, at No 1 Royal Crescent, Bath, curated by Ingrid Swenson.
Later this year Whyte’s second solo exhibition, Winter Remembers April, will be presented at Pippy Houldsworth Gallery, London. Other forthcoming exhibitions include Roots in the Sky at HOME Manchester, curated by Tunji Adeniyi-Jones in autumn 2025, and a solo exhibition with White Cube, Hong Kong in January 2026.
Whyte had his first solo exhibition in April 2024 at Pippy Houldsworth Gallery, and following on from this he was included in a live conversation with art historian Alayo Akinkugbe at Tate Britain. Other recent acquisitions include Arts Council Collection, UK, made possible by the ACC Frieze Fund; Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, Stoke-on-Trent, supported by The Contemporary Art Society, London; and the Nasher Museum of Art, Durham, NC.
