Seventh in the series of 'In Conversations' at Pippy Houldsworth Gallery, Francesca DiMattio is in discussion with Tom Morton, addressing questions of 'beauty' and 'authenticity' arising from DiMattio's fusion and collapse of high and low arts and crafts styles in her exhibition of new work, Bloemenhouder and Kandelaar, 10 October - 17 November 2012.

Francesca Di Mattio's recent solo exhibitions include those at ICA, Boston; Salon 94 Bowery, New York; The Suburban, Chicago; Portugal Arte 10; and Locust Projects, Miami. She has also been part of major group and survey exhibitions recently including 'Abstract America', Saatchi Gallery, London; Cluj Museum, Romania; Centre for Contemporary Art, Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw: 5th Prague Biennial; Casey Kaplan Gallery, New York; Tanja Bonakdar, New York; and New Jersey Museum of Contemporary Art.

Tom Morton is a curator and writer living in London, UK. He co-curated the British Art Show 7 and organised numerous exhibitions at the Hayward Gallery, London, including solo shows with Cyprien Gaillard and Matthew Darbyshire, and the group show Deceitful Moon. He curated the exhibition How to Endure for the 2007 Athens Biennale, and was co-curator of the 2008 Busan Biennale, South Korea. Morton has been Contributing Editor of frieze magazine since 2003, and he is the author of numerous exhibition catalogue essays, on artists including Roger Hiorns, Erik van Lieshout, Pierre Huyghe, Glenn Brown, Andro Wekua and Victor Man.
